Any update on Oman Valid driving license conversion. please post.

No update except that Bahrain traffic authorities are asking for a letter for conversion of GCC driving licenses.  This is for all licenses e.g. Oman, Saudi, UAE etc.  Without this, they are not converting.   For the latest information, you are going to have to visit the traffic department.

Omani Licence can swap immediately at Traffic Police pay 25BD, no other documents required. Carry a pp photo only.

31/10/2019 I have received the licence. same day . usually it shoud not take more then 2 hours .

Dint they ask for letter from Oman traffic dept?
Also where all can I go for converting does the service centre in Muharaqq do these?

As mentioned by  Pakkir1, no documents were required from Oman traffic dept. I believe you will need to visit Traffic directorate on A'ali for this.

License swapping and issuing is done at the driving school building and not in the general directorate of traffic building..

Recent Update:

You need to download a android app called "skiplino" (u have to search with skiplino bahrain) and take an appointment first before visiting to the driving school or Muharrak branch (Only in these 2 locations, u have access to GCC driving license conversion). Without the appointment, do not go there; they haven't allowed me without the appointment, as i was not aware of this. Also, they will allow u inside, only 15 mins prior to ur appointment time.

Also, if ur visa is still valid in the source country (say, Oman), they are returning back the Oman licence as well, means u can use both the licences.

Currently, u have to pay BD5 for eye test and BD20 for licence fees (for 5 years). The payment is only by card in Muharrak branch whereas u can pay by cash also in driving school branch.

They r not converting licence if it is less than 1 year old.

They r not asking for any letter from Oman driving center.

Thanks Satish, for your valuable updates.. I have Oman driving license and almost 2 years is left to expire. is it possible to convert Oman to Bahrain license on 2 years validity. how ever my license period is 10 years.
Further i can get appointment on Skiplino.

Yes you can convert, unfortunately due to the current situation i am hearing from many that they are not getting appointments via Skiplino, keep trying.
