Thanks, you too!

I'm having a pretty good time... in southern Việt Nam!

Have the water battles started already?

Happy Khmer new year everyone !

@jayrozzetti23 well everyone's ready. Water guns are being sold on every street corner. New years decorations at the big market on 6th st are really selling. A few years ago we did pub street. So busy! My partner says we will not go downtown at night. I hope to see pub street this year!  Have a good time in Vietnam. By chance are you around can tho?

I'm currently in Rach Gia on the coast and plan to head up to the Mekong Delta but will skip Con Tho in favor of some smaller cities  like Long Xuyen and My Tho before heading back to Vung Tau.

And Siem Reap is wild. Water guns, buckets, hoses on so many streets. We went to eat indian food at a favored place. Wow. The city is partying. Then out to makro. Same same. I won't be making it to pub street for the next days.

Lots of people with lots of water attack devices 😀.

Just an update... Actually, I did end up in Can Tho city because from Rach Gia, there are no direct buses to the smaller cities. However, it's not too bad or too big and there's a wider range of dining options than I found in Rach Gia.

Anywayz, enjoy the madness. I'm happy to be missing it.

Cool. If you want to do a floating market tour there let me know. I have an old friend that does them. I like the city a lot. Been a few years since I was there last.

Have a good time. Madness winds down today.

Thanks for the tip, but as a long-term expat in the region that sort of tourist activity doesn't appeal to me very much.

But if you have any other tips/suggestions, please let me know. It's my first time here but essentially I'm just passing through on my way to Vung Tau, so I'm just enjoying my normal daily routine. Cheers!

One thing I always enjoyed there was walking the side streets and finding small coffee shops and cafes. Used to be a nice beer garden right by the night market. We would go and eat there. Not like a bia hoi in Hanoi but it was fun. There are also some nice small restaurants up and down the side streets. The big park in town is nice too. Lily would also take me to bbq places on her scooter. Seems like there were a lot of them. Really enjoyed the walking down side streets there a lot.

Take care.

Yes, I also enjoy just walking around a lot even in the heat and humidity. With google maps, you can't get lost, although sometimes when you arrive at a place, you find it no longer exists. Anyway, I've enjoyed two Japanese restaurants here and several coffee and noodle shops as you mention. Also, The Can Tho Museum was interesting.

Have they finished up with the New Year celebrations, or is it continuing into the weekend?
