Bad wind storm yesterday in SR

mpmilestogo

Was truly amazed at the ferocity of the wind yesterday. It blew down trees at Angkor wat. My wife said killed some people. I have never seen anything like it. She could not remember anything comparable. Be  careful out there. Still see uprooted trees around town but city is out cleaning up things. Knocked power out for awhile. City power came briefly by looking at the wire jungle outside our place.

Yes, there's been a fair amount of unseasonable weather recently throughout the region.

Here, along the southern coast in Kampot, we're getting a lot of cloudy weather with occasional rain showers/storms mostly at night, which normally doesn't happen this time of year. Fortunately, it's not as windy here as you describe. I saw Pattaya, Thailand was also badly hit yesterday.

And, I remember being in Vientiane, Laos in 2011  when we got hit by two back-to-back early storms, and it rained constantly for 2 weeks with about 3 hours of sunshine between them.

As you advise, be alert and be prepared with some candles and a lighter so at least you have light. It's not always warm and sunny in the tropics.
