Mail Forwarding from the US

jfranknichols

Any advice on mail forwarding services from the US?

We will be here, but will need to retain a mailing address in the US (we think) for things like the VA, IRS, SS, FL Drivvers License, etc. At least for a while.

Any suggestions for a service. Preferably, something I can see a PDF of the mail and only have hard copies forwarded of items I select.

I looked into Escapees, and after calling their customer service to find out the fee for forwarding to Europe, it is $50 per item plus handling - ahem. So, $50 per letter? Seriously? The post office charges $1.40 for a 1 ounce letter.

Surely we are not the first to need mail forwarding from "back home".

TIA,

Frank

We have a box with a postal annex in MA (similar to mailboxes etc but i dont know if they still exist).  All our mail is forwarded to them and our box.  On a monthly basis they will ship our mail to us, for a fee of course.  Monthly because we no longer receive much mail in US.  We have sold everything, do online banking, etc.  Hope that helps.

I am using physicaladdress.com. They will scan and send a pdf of whatever you want. Also shred whatever you don't want. I haven't had anything physically sent, but they do that as well. I've only been here a few months but it has worked well and is very affordable.

Not sure if this thread is still active and being read.

Here is a thread that discusses virtual mailboxes in quite some depth.
