NOC from current employer for Saudi work visa

Farooq.Muhammad

Hi,

I work in Bahrain and recently got a job in Saudi Arabia. Currently working on necessary documentation to get Saudi visa. My prospective employer in Saudi told me not to resign till the time I get my Saudi visa stamped on my passport. However, one of the requirement for applying for Saudi work visa is to get an NOC from current employer in Bahrain, stating that the employer will not be having any issues in me applying for the Saudi Work Visa.

My current employer is unwilling to issue the NOC without my resigning. I fear that if I resigned and could not get Saudi visa for any reason, I will end up losing both the jobs.

Have you faced any problem like this while applying for Saudi Work visa. Do let me know if there is any work around.

Thanks & Regards,

Like it or not, this is the requirement for the Saudi embassy. And theoretically, your employer is right. Why should they give you an NOC, wait for you to apply and get a visa and then leave?   And if you don't get a visa, they welcome you back with open arms?

Besides you have already told your employer that you have another job offer. Whether you resign or not now, doesn't matter. They already know you are on the lookout and leaving.

The only alternative you have is to apply for a Saudi work visa from your home country to get around this requirement.

@XTang On what grounds do you think that the Saudi Embassy can reject an application for Work visa? Really want to see if I should take the risk or not.

Look it is very difficult to predict. If your employer is efficient and all documents (attested degrees, medical etc) are in order, it is likely that there should be no issue.  On the other hand, something could go wrong or there could be delays.  There is always a risk.

You can either go for it and assume the risk. Or pass up the offer.  Or apply via your home country where no NOC would be needed - NOC requirement is only when you are resident outside of your home country.

Hi Muhammed,

Good day,

I would like to know whether you got the NOC or not? Do you have the template of this NOC. I am also in this same situation.

Farooq.Muhammad

@ismuus yes. Fortunately enough I got the NOC from my employer without prior resigning.

The NOC format that I used is as under (please ask your agent to have a look at it):

To:

The Head of the Consular Section Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
