Moving to Leiden

Hello guys! I just found this forum and I hope I'm using it right. So, me and my girlfriend will need an apartment or studio in Leiden (or close such as Den Haag or South of amsterdam). We will be doing our PhDs in Leiden University Medical Center, so anything that by metro or bus would take max 30 minutes to get there. We will be moving from Portugal in around 3 months from now, so we would need a house in February/March 2025. We have the stepback (or at least it is one for Dutch house owners) of having to take our dog with us, and most research we did of flats or studios do not allow pets. We were wondering if you could help us out with some tips for looking for apartments or some contact you have that correspond to our needs!

The University website has advice on finding student housing; this will take you straight to it.聽 My advice is to contact them first.

Absolutely; they are the people who live and work in Leiden, will know who, if anybody has contacts for maybe a friend/relative who wants to rent their property.聽 I don't know anybody on this Forum who lives there.
