Mobile phone plans in France

Cheryl

Hello everyone,

Staying connected while living in France remains a priority for expats, especially when choosing a mobile operator or to understand the local specificities of mobile plans.

Here some elements to consider:

How to choose your mobile operator in France?

What documents are required to subscribe to a mobile plan in France?

What criteria should you consider when choosing a plan matching your needs?

Are e-sim cards a suitable option for expats? What are the conditions?

What are your local tips for saving money on your mobile plan, especially for international calls (apps, operators, etc.) or mobile data?

Feel free to share your experiences and advice to choose your mobile plan as an expat in France.

Thank you for your contribution.

If you would like to include a television plan with your mobile phone, "Free" has some offers with both of them included. We're using it as a family. For each new phone number addition, they charge about 16 euros a month, although there are different options with different prices. Coverage is okay. Internet speed is enough (even to play online games sometimes). It's unlimited in France and has about 35 gigabytes for roaming other countries. Don't know what's included in the TV options though. I think there are packages for sport channels included, movie channels included etc.
