Question re: eTravel website issue (cannot update my home address)

mindssigh

Hello everyone. Highly specific question here about the eTravel website that I'm hoping anyone can assist with.

Context: A few months ago, I registered on the eTravel website (). Since registering, I have physically moved to a new address within the United States (my home country). To ensure my eTravel Profile is accurate, I navigated to my page (), updated my address. The save appeared to work without an issue. However, after logging out of eTravel and logging back in, my old address is being displayed again. I've attempted several times to edit it, with no luck. I've waited a few days, too, so it wasn't a matter of simply waiting for the change to propagate in their system. I've reached out to eTravel Support (support@etravel.gov.ph), which thus far has not been a help. (They either didn't understand the problem I described or didn't care enough to understand. They simply gave me instructions on how to edit my address...which I've already tried to do.) I've written them back again and I am awaiting an answer. My trip to the Philippines isn't for another 5 weeks, so there's some time to fix this, but I like to be prepared for the worst.

Question: How problematic is it if the "No./Bldg./City/State/Province" field (in the "Permanent Country of Residence" section) is incorrect? I assume when I create a new Travel Declaration for my upcoming trip, this is the address that will be used as my home address. Given that it is incorrect, I'm concerned that this will cause issues with immigration. Any thoughts you can share would be appreciated. This will be my first trip to the Philippines, so I'm inexperienced with their processes.

Thank you in advance.

I would simply remove the account and open a new one.

@Cherryann01 I don't see any mechanism on the site that allows me to remove/delete my account entirely. Do know where specifically I can do that?

Cherryann01

Under Account Settings go to Access &Control and there is an option to delete the account. Also when I open the app there is also an option to open a new account.

@Cherryann01 Oh, I see it now. It's on the mobile app (I was using the website). Are you sure that I won't be blocked from creating a new account? I ask only because I already verified my current account with the government and I'd be worried they might block me from creating a new account.

I cannot be 100% sure but if I were you and you can not change your address and you are not having any success contacting anybody to find out, I would try  open a second account first, complete all information needed and keep your original account if possible. You may find that when you open a new account that you get a message saying you already have an account registered and it may (just may) ask you if you want to replace it with the new account.

Does it even matter what you have as your home address? Does Immigration use it for anything (under normal circumstances)?
