Not sure of your purpose in coming to Ghana. If you look on the Ghana Immigration website you will find a list of all the visas with their cost. Usually people come to Ghana on a 3 month visitor's visa and then change to a resident's permit and get a work permit if they want to work. There is also a student visa if you are coming to study or a business visa if that is applicable. I expect Ghana has a consulate in Uganda where you can apply for the relevant visa

Hello

You mentioned that you are dating in Ghana. If your date is Ghanaian, he can extend your initial 3 month stay for a little fee at the Ghana Immigrations. It is an easy process where your Passport is submitted with an application letter, and a fee is paid.

You also need to find out if there's a reciprocal agreement between Uganda and Ghana, and whether a visa is required at all.

If you were to get married at the Registry while you are in Ghana (on an extended stay), you only need to apply for dependent's residence permit, which will entitle you to stay here for as many years as you wish, or even forever.

Hi everyone

I am a lady from South Africa engaged to a Ghanaian and looking forward to get married to him this year in June and we want to get married in Ghana.

I was hoping that I'll apply for a visitors visa of which they will give me a single entry because its my first time of going to Ghana. So i think with the single entry i will get 30 days stay in Ghana of which thats not what I'm looking for. I wish to relocate to Ghana, i wish we can register our marriage immediately i get to Ghana and then once our marriage certificate is out we can then apply for my residence permit.

Now the thing is i dont know which permit is suitable for me. I came across a permit called Indefinite Residence Permit for a foreign spouse and the applicant suppose to be in Ghana for 5 years before the applicant can qualify for that permit and that disqualifies me because i have not been in Ghana.

So can you please advice me on what permit i can apply for immediately after getting married. And i will like to know how long the permit you will suggest to me takes to come out,  what documents required to apply for it and how much it will cost me.

I dont know if you also know what documents are required from me as a foreigner to register my marriage in Ghana and how long does it take for the marriage certificate to come out.
Lastly i will like to know how many days can i get when extending a visitors visa.

Looking forward to hear from you.
Many thanks.
